The Project/Programme Manager executes and coordinates a range of workstreams in the planning, execution and delivery of complex projects/programmes through all specific phases, in alignment with BT Group strategies and external customer contractual requirements.
Tasks
- Works with an integrated team in the delivery of end-to-end projects/ programmes contributing to commercial benefit, deliver on time, within budget and to agreed quality criteria.
- Monitors issue escalations, project risks, dependencies and project changes, ensuring timely intervention and communication to stakeholders.
- Consults on complex projects/ programmes using advanced technical knowledge with global impact.
- Contributes to the development, documentation and implementation of projects/ programmes and change initiatives.
- Supports project/ programme communication with stakeholders with timely reporting on performance.
- Defines, documents and executes smaller or less complex projects/ programmes.
- Champions, continuously develops and shares with team knowledge on emerging trends and changes in Project/Programme Management & PMO.
- Mentors other Project/Programme Management & PMO professionals.
- Influences stakeholders inside and if required outside of BT Group.
- Proactively identifies and manages risk through regular assessment and diligent execution of controls and mitigations.
- Ensures commercial obligations, risks and interdependencies defined within external delivery contracts are applied.

Requirements
- Deliver programmes and projects end to end, on time, on budget, and to agreed quality, delivering clear commercial value.
- Deep understanding on Agile/SAFe delivery and utilising the framework resulting in business outcomes.
- Can act independently with confidence to deliver large, strategic transformational change
- Set up and run programme governance with clear reporting to senior leaders and delivery teams.
- Can challenge the status quo, streamline processes and practices to enable outcomes smarter
- Manage risks, issues, dependencies and change, escalating and resolving early.
- Lead complex, cross-functional programmes from design through to implementation.
- Own plans, budgets, progress tracking and assurance in line with BT policies.
- Provide clear, timely updates and decision support to stakeholders.
- Deliver smaller projects independently, agreeing scope, approach and success measures.
- Promote and apply best practice in project and programme delivery (Agile, Waterfall, Scaled).
- Coach and mentor other programme & project managers.
- Collaborate and influence across BT and partners to deliver strategy.
- Manage supplier obligations, contracts and commercial risk within programme governance
