bp, one of the world's leading integrated energy companies, is looking for an experienced Sourcing Lead with a strong background in marketing procurement. You will manage end-to-end sourcing and contracting projects, helping bp businesses define their requirements, select suppliers and negotiate commercially sound agreements. Working within the relevant category strategy, you will develop sourcing approaches, build supplier relationships and identify opportunities to deliver greater value for bp. The role combines hands-on sourcing and contract negotiation with professional leadership. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers, including senior-level partners, and support junior team members through guidance and mentoring.

Tasks

  • Manage end-to-end sourcing and contracting projects of medium spend and complexity, from understanding business demand through supplier selection, contracting and requests for contract operationalisation
  • Work with stakeholders to clarify business requirements and scopes of work, and challenge or refine demand where appropriate
  • Develop sourcing strategies in line with the relevant category strategy
  • Define the approach to market and supplier selection criteria based on business priorities
  • Manage and coordinate supplier selection to identify the most suitable option
  • Identify commercial opportunities and ways to maximise value for bp
  • Manage relationships and communication with stakeholders and suppliers, including at senior levels
  • Negotiate commercial and contractual terms with suppliers
  • Draft and modify contracts using approved templates, and manage the approval process
  • Prepare project reports and analyse market, financial and supplier data to support decisions
  • Provide professional guidance and mentoring to junior team members, including support with senior stakeholder engagement
  • Coordinate the resolution of complex issues and drive improvements that deliver long-term solutions
  • Ensure sourcing activities comply with bp's Code of Conduct, procurement principles, applicable laws and Health, Safety, Security and Environment policies

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, preferably in business studies
  • At least 5 years of practical experience in end-to-end sourcing of services and commodities, including sourcing strategy preparation, contract drafting and negotiation
  • At least 3 years of category-specific experience in Marketing
  • Proven experience creating contracts and negotiating commercial and legal terms
  • A track record of successful procurement delivery in complex, international environments
  • Experience providing professional leadership, coordinating work and mentoring junior team members
  • Strong commercial judgement, influencing and negotiation skills
  • Strategic thinking and the ability to develop sourcing strategies
  • Strong analytical skills, including market and financial analysis and the ability to identify issues and trends in complex data
  • Effective communication with internal and external partners, including senior stakeholders
  • Experience working in large, multicultural teams
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet demanding deadlines
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint and Access
  • Fluent English
