We are looking for an experienced Head of Accounting & Tax to join our Accounting & Tax team at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Kecskemét. In this role, you will take end-to-end responsibility for the plant's accounting and tax activities, including the planning, management, and execution of monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
Tasks
- Lead, motivate, and develop your team in line with our corporate leadership principles
- Take end-to-end responsibility for the plant's accounting processes, including general ledger and sub-ledger accounting, fixed assets, inventories, and provisions
- Take full operational responsibility for the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes
- Oversee local tax matters, particularly VAT, corporate income tax, and other applicable taxes
- Ensure timely and accurate statutory reporting to Hungarian authorities
- Coordinate internal and external audits, tax inspections, and related follow-up activities
- Ensure efficient and compliant fixed asset capitalization and inventory management
- Drive the implementation of regulatory changes and new projects in collaboration with your team
- Prepare decision-making materials and coordinate necessary approval processes to support management decisions

Requirements
- University degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or a related field
- Hungarian certified accountant qualification (mérlegképes könyvelő), with active registration
- In-depth knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting principles
- Strong understanding of Hungarian accounting regulations and financial closing processes
- Qualification in Hungarian tax matters or substantial practical experience
- Fluent Hungarian and business-fluent English, both written and spoken
- Very good knowledge of MS Office
- An independent, proactive, and solution-oriented approach to work
