Tesco Careers is looking for a Buyer - DIY for its central office in Budaörs. This is a fixed-term position. We are looking for a new team member with strategic thinking and analytical skills to help shape the category's procurement strategy.
Tasks
- Developing the category procurement strategy
- Sourcing and introducing new procurement opportunities
- The supplier base includes market-leading partners as well as smaller suppliers
- Close cooperation with international procurement, developing a shared strategy and product range
- Assortment compilation and continuous management
- Monitoring market trends and competitors - integrating insights into our own strategy
- Managing end-to-end procurement processes with category suppliers and cross-functional departments
- Daily alignment and communication with suppliers and related departments
- Product pricing and price monitoring
- Planning and tracking promotions and other promotional events
- Preparing and presenting commercial analyses and reviews
- Monitoring category performance and developing support plans

Requirements
- Strategic thinking and analytical skills
- Min. 1-3 years of procurement experience, preferably in category procurement, FMCG, retail
- Communicative English language skills (spoken and written)
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Your main drive is ensuring our customers get the best offers from us
- Basic understanding of how business operates
- You are a team player who is not phased when things sometimes don't go as planned
- Confident user of MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
- Handling new and different systems, querying and maintaining data
