Tech People is a European provider of technical skills permanent recruitment and temporary contracting services for multiple industries. Currently we are looking for a Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows.
Tasks
- Design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows using AWS, PySpark, Airflow, and Redshift.
- Analyze and optimize Redshift workloads, including query execution plans, WLM configuration, distribution/sort keys, and overall warehouse performance.
- Develop and maintain robust data models and transformation workflows using SQL and dbt, following data engineering best practices.
- Implement monitoring, data quality, CI/CD, and operational best practices to ensure reliable, scalable, and production-ready data platforms.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering, especially in cloud data warehouse environments.
- Proven expertise in AWS Redshift --- internals, WLM, distribution/sort keys, query execution plan analysis, optimization techniques.
- Hands-on experience with Pyspark and Apache Airflow.
- Strong SQL skills and deep understanding of query performance tuning in Redshift.
- Solid understanding of data modeling principles, including dimensional modeling (Kimball), normalized models, and hybrid strategies.
- Experience with monitoring tools (CloudWatch, Redshift Console)
- Familiarity with data versioning, CI/CD, and collaborative development practices in dbt.
- Confident English
- Candidate needs to be to be currently eligible to work in Hungary.
