Virgo Systems is looking for a Senior Java Software Engineer for an international partner project, participating in everything from understanding requirements and implementation to operating live systems. As a Java software developer, you will work in an agile (SCRUM) team, taking responsibility for the full lifecycle.
Tasks
- Recording, analysis, and review of functional and technical requirements
- Translating requirements into technical software design and implementation
- Software development in agile, cross-functional teams using the SCRUM methodology
- Ensuring the fulfilment of non-functional requirements: performance, data protection, IT security
- Ensuring the future maintainability of the systems
- Handling incidents and problems in the affected systems
- Maintaining and optimizing systems for performance and availability

Requirements
- IT university degree or software development IT qualification
- Several years of experience with Java, SoapUI, and REST services
- Hands-on project experience in Java, Eclipse, SQL, SWT, and REST services
- Knowledge of SQL and Oracle databases
- Experience with cloud development platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure)
- Knowledge of Apache Tomcat
- ElasticSearch experience
- Application of agile methods, especially SCRUM; experience with agile tools (e.g., Jira)
- Knowledge and active use of AI technologies
- Confident command of German and English, both written and spoken
