Our partner, a dynamically growing international company, is looking for a Senior GL Accountant for the accounting team of their Consumer division in Budapest. The position reports directly to the Head of Accounting and plays a key role in supporting monthly and year-end closing processes, as well as statutory reporting.
Tasks
- Full-scope general ledger accounting tasks (R2R process)
- Recording complex accounting entries (e.g. revenue recognition, accruals, asset registry)
- Supporting monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes; reconciling and substantiating balance sheet and income statement accounts
- Management of tangible and intangible assets (capitalization, depreciation, disposal); accounting and reconciliation of intercompany transactions
- Management of prepayments, accruals, and provisions
- Support for VAT and other tax reconciliations
- Support for the preparation of statutory reports and financial statements
- Support for management reporting
- Operational support for audits
- Maintaining process documentation
- Professional support for AP, AR, and Bank Accountant colleagues
- Participation in ad hoc projects (e.g., system implementation, restructuring)

Requirements
- Higher education in economics or accounting
- Minimum 3-5 years of general ledger accounting experience
- Knowledge of Hungarian accounting law and IFRS
- Certified Accountant qualification
- Experience working with ERP systems
- Fluent English language skills
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, complex formulas)
