Our client is one of the world's leading investment management and technology firms, looking for a Data Engineer to join their Budapest-based engineering team. This position offers the opportunity to work on business-critical regulatory compliance and trade surveillance systems within a highly international environment, collaborating with stakeholders across London, New York, and India.
Tasks
- Develop and support data engineering solutions for Trade Surveillance and Regulatory Compliance platforms.
- Deliver engineering and development work across key initiatives, including client rollouts, technology upgrades, business enhancements, and production support.
- Work with trade, position, pricing, investment, and other surveillance-related datasets.
- Collaborate with local and international engineering teams and stakeholders in a global environment.
- Support integration activities and work closely with infrastructure, production support, and other engineering teams.
- Take ownership of tasks and contribute independently, leveraging your technical expertise from day one.
- Ensure high-quality and reliable solutions through strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.

Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in Data Engineering, with the ability to contribute effectively from an early stage.
- Strong Python and SQL skills with solid technical foundations.
- Familiarity with Snowflake and Linux/UNIX environments is a plus.
- Strong English language skills
- Proactive, self-driven, and ownership-oriented mindset.
- Professional approach with strong attention to quality, accuracy, and compliance requirements.
- Comfortable working with global stakeholders and collaborating across international teams.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic environment.
