XML International is seeking a proactive and technically skilled Software Engineer -- AI & Continuous Improvement to support the evolution of a large-scale financial technology platform in an international engineering environment. The platform processes billions of records daily, supporting critical trading, risk management and business operations.
Tasks
- Design, build and deliver production-ready applications, tools and automation solutions.
- Identify opportunities to reduce repetitive manual work and improve development and support processes.
- Develop reusable solutions that enhance engineering efficiency and delivery quality.
- Improve automated testing frameworks, test coverage and release confidence.
- Explore and apply AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering workflows.
- Investigate production incidents and complex technical issues, performing root-cause analysis.
- Collaborate with engineers and business stakeholders to support continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Experience designing, developing and delivering production-grade software applications, tools or automation solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to investigate complex systems and data flows.
- Experience building automated testing frameworks or improving software test coverage.
- Practical programming or scripting experience in at least one language, such as Python, Java or a functional programming language.
- Basic understanding of databases, SQL, data analysis or reporting tools.
- Familiarity with Linux environments and command-line tools.
- Experience with development collaboration tools and practices such as Git, Jira, code reviews and technical documentation.
- Willingness to learn KDB /Q and apply it to business and engineering challenges.
- Strong ownership, collaboration and continuous improvement mindset.
